Tweak It Studio is an artistic and transformative studio recently based in the Detroit Metro Area for a creative, inspired and vibrant tTweak It Studio offers a wide range of content and experiences including renovation projects for one-of-a-kind custom furniture, how-to TIY, workshops and commissioned services.
Tweak It Studio is driven by its talented, charming and socially active founder Adar Kirkham, whose unique perspective and creative vision inspire others to not only “tweak” their furniture pieces and home decor but also to motivate them to chase their dreams and express their personal vision and story through hard work, out-of-the-box thinking, and positive mindset.
Here at Tweak It Studio, we seek out the unconventional and the extraordinary. We find inspiration everywhere in the brilliant urban centers across the planet. We celebrate the artistic endeavors of ourselves, our friends, and strangers. Every moment is another chance to transform your world.
Born and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Tweak It Studio founder and designer, Adar Kirkham’s innate passion for the creative arts began at a young age. Studying dance for over 18 years, including ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and modern dance, landed her a position as the Entertainment Manager and Choreographer NBA’s Brooklyn Nets dance team for 7 seasons. Since, Adar has performed alongside Rihanna, LL Cool J, T.I., Ashanti, Lil Jon Usher, Kanye West, Pitbull, Diddy, Ciara, Fergie, Elton John, Ricky Martin, Eve, and Panic at the Disco, as well on the film Trainwreck, Lip Sync Battle seasons 2, 3 & 4, NBA All-Star Saturday Night, Disney’s Fam Jam, I Can See Your Voice, H.E.R. Grammy performance, NBA’s Clippers and Detroit Pistons dance teams.
But Adar’s truest passion emerged soon after. While transitioning from dancer to choreographer, Adar simultaneously tended to her other passion - furniture refinishing and interior design. Turning her hobby into a business in 2016, Adar started her DIY furniture refinishing company Tweak It Studios. Adar's work landed her on HGTV’s Flea Market Flip in 2017. Since, Adar has continued to build her clientele across the states and in 2018, she partnered with West Elm on a successful pop up shop in their regional store which eventually lead to a second pop up shop in Los Angeles. Today, Adar’s DIY business is thriving and her hope is to inspire others to get creative, make less waste and revitalize the furniture around them to beautify their own environments.
