Main Street Cheese

Main Street Cheese, LLC is a small-scale, woman-owned, licensed goat dairy committed to the craft of cheesemaking in Hancock, New Hampshire. It is inspired by both a devotion to artisanal production as well as a conviction that local, sustainable agriculture can help to usher in a new, life-centered, generative economy through consumer and citizen action. Its herd of Alpine does live up the road from the cheesery where they have plentiful browse. Main Street Cheese is committed to planned holistic grazing, with its multiple environmental benefits, as well as those to livestock and human health. After kidding season, the kids are raised on Main Street, where people are welcome to visit them. During the summer (June - Aug) on Saturdays, visitors are invited to walking meditation, a farm and cheesery tour, and a cheese tasting. Main Street Cheese, LLC sells its fresh and aged cheeses, as well as goat meat, at its honor-system shop on Main Street in Hancock, New Hampshire. It is also available at local stores and farmers markets. We are committed to using as much organic feed as we can, though we are not certified organic.
