We started our farm in 2012 and have been serving the DC area for over 5 years. We are farmer owned and operated. Sapidus Farms currently farms over 1 million oysters on 25+ acres of oyster leases on the Great Wicomico River using bottom and float cages. Our Happy Oysters and Happy Roasters are triploids and allow us to grow and sell oysters all year long. We only pull oysters from what we put out and never harvest wild oysters; our farm therefore filters over 9.61 billion gallons of water per week.

Here At Sapidus Farms, We Raise Happy Oysters: Each of our Happy Oysters are spawned in our Happy Hatchery, raised in our nursery, grown in our oysters cages (for their own protection), and hand selected at 3inches or better for same day delivery. Our happy oysters are triploids and therefore are fat all year long.
Angelina started at Sapidus Farms back in 2014 a day after her wedding to “Oyster Mike”. While she always expected to be waterfront for her honeymoon, she did not quite anticipate wearing slicks and muck boots. Luckily she has always been partial to the smell of the salt water and she has found that muck boots are quite comfortable.
Angelina followed her love of water to The Madeira School off of the Potomac River, UNCW next to Wrightsville Beach, and eventually found herself land locked at University of
Maryland College Park where she graduated with a BA in English. She has spent the past few years behind the scenes at Sapidus Farms, and is excited to make the farm her primary focus as of 2019. She spends most of her time in the Happy Hatchery & Nursery, but sometimes gets pulled away to sort oysters for your orders.
