Sonder Articles is a clothing brand born from an award winning art installation about empathy + connection.
Artist Megan Constance Altieri started the project by printing eavesdropped conversations onto clothing and displaying the stories as public art. The installation won the 2018 Art Prize Public vote award.
Since then, the project has evolved into a clothing line, a 400 page coffee table book, a greeting card and postcard line. Altieri launched Sonder Articles with the goal of marrying slow fashion and storytelling, all in the name of empathy.

By day, I am a high school art teacher at Wellspring Prep High School in Grand Rapids. This job has my heart! Sonder Articles has grown significantly over the last few years. Balancing the tasks of producing hand printed clothing, social media marketing, and gathering inspiration would be impossible without my partner, Leeann. She, by day, is a Physician Assistant at a dermatology practice in Grand Rapids. We are both proud to represent the LGBTQ community in our roles as teacher, provider, and artists.
