The Oakley Farm in Livingston, TN was donated to the Tennessee Tech University Foundation five years ago. The farm is 1,500 acres of pasture, timber and greenhouses. There are 32,000 square feet of greenhouses that are used to grow hydroponic tomatoes including heirloom tomatoes. The produce operation of the farm is managed by Michael Best, who is an agricultural economics professor at TTU. The workforce for the produce operation is made up of student workers. This summer we have 9 students working there.
Low input production - We try not to spray any synthetic chemicals on our plants and managed not to the entire season in 2020. We grow the best tasting heirloom tomatoes around and our reds and yellows are great too. Black Krim, Cherokee Purple, German Yellow and Pink
