Boston Microgreens
Vendor
Hi there! We are Boston Microgreens, Boston's local urban farm focused on producing high quality, nutritious microgreens for the Boston community with a social twist! We will probably be making the switch to social enterprise status by next year but will remain for-profit until we can get the paperwork sorted :)
BMG has been producing ultra-fresh, high quality microgreens for the Boston market for over three years now. We have recently made a big push into the residential market as covid took away a lot of our restaurant clients and what a blessing in disguise it has been! People absolutely love these green! We always harvest fresh the day of so you know you are getting the most vibrant and nutritious product possible. We grow sustainably and use absolutely no pesticides or herbicides. We also use all renewable energy to power our farm. We grow an amazing "nutrition mix" which is composed of our tastiest and most nutrient dense varieties which we are able to offer at a fantastic price point and think this could be a great product line for the market. We can also juice delicious wheatgrass shots on site (covid allowing). We would love the opportunity to connect more with our neighbors in the Boston and appreciate being considered for a slot at the Copley Market!
Something that we are really excited about is our new Green Thumb Early Learning Program where we partner with local schools to teach children about the importance of healthy food, nature and community. We are super excited to already have three different classes at the Tynan Elementary School in South Boston signed up for this season! What we do is construct raised beds at the school and then come back to teach several classes where we plant seedlings, learn about natural systems and of course participate in a yummy harvest day! We find that even a small experiential interaction can totally shift a childs paradigm, opening their world to new potentials that are hopefully aligned with nature and our environment. The program is funded through our own fundraising efforts as well as through our own farm profits. We are very excited to grow this program in the coming years with our increased microgreens sales and local community connections. Thanks again for your consideration, we really hope that this can work out :)
