Sugar Crush makes culinary drunken and sober jams and jelly’s. Drunken jams start with alcohol but the alcoholic properties cook off making them safe for children. But you’re left with a yummy drink taste.
Sugar Crush Sweet Treats is just me and sometimes a little moral support from my husband of 24 years. I have been a bartender all of my life until about 9 years ago I started Invitro to have a baby. Not having much success, the doctors suggested taking a leave of absence from bartending. Not having a salary made Christmas hard that year, so I decided gifts would come from my heart, hard work and time which I had an over abundance of but not much money. I crafted strawberry daiquiri jam, pina colada jam, and sangria jelly that year. Everyone loved them. My friends encouraged me and said ‘ you should do this!’ So when it was obvious that I would not be returning back to work anytime soon, I started to focus on more jam flavors using traditional drink recipes and turning them into special jams and jellies. I have thirty two flavors, some only by season now. I have been making and selling jams and jellies for about five years, six if you count 2020 with restrictions. I love being my own boss and it’s always fun to see people’s faces when they try a sample and they say ‘ how’d you do that? It tastes just like the drink!’
