About

My name is Greg Paul and our farm story started back in 2004...the same year I was blessed enough to marry the love of my life, Suzanne.

A little background on me: I grew up in working in my family's home improvement business. I went to college right after high school, majoring in criminal justice with the intent of pursuing a law enforcement career. However, I decided not to go that route and continued on in the family business. Neither Suzanne nor I have any background in agriculture prior to 2004. In fact, we both grew up in subdivisions - me in rural Goochland and Suzanne in suburban Midlothian.

I met Suzanne at VCU where she was pursuing a nursing degree. I somehow convinced her to marry me and move to the middle of nowhere so we could start a life together. Suzanne is now a Nurse Practitioner and works off the farm at an urgent care center in Richmond.

I've always had a passion for raising animals and remember being enamored with farming from a young age. As soon as we were married and on our own, we started raising chickens. We quickly added goats, pigs and a few cows. With no background in raising livestock, we have learned many things the hard way but are very proud to provide our family and friends with some of the healthiest and tastiest food available.

Over the past 15 years, Suzanne & I have had 4 children - three girls and one crazy little boy! We recently sold our family’s home improvement business so that we could homeschool our kids and turn our hobby farm into a real farm business. It is our goal to supply our family, friends and neighbors with high quality food and help heal the earth with regenerative agriculture. It is also our goal to enable our children to develop their own entrepreneurial endeavors on the farm so they can develop practical business skills and strengthen their work ethic. We want to teach them that morally righteous businesses do succeed and that capitalism can be ethical.

We raise our animals naturally: No hormones, steriods or unnecessary antibiotics. All of our animals have a great, low-stress life and it shows in the tenderness and taste of the meat.

Our cattle only eat what they can find on pasture. Our pigs forage in the woods and chickens are raised on pasture. Our pigs and chickens are supplemented with a non-GMO grain mix from a local farm. Our animals are all moved often to different areas of pasture to keep them healthy and improve the land. This is the way God designed these animals to live.

Our family tends to be unconventional by modern standards. We take pleasure from the simple things in life. We don't watch TV or go shopping much. We prefer to work and play outside. The majority of our meals are made at home from scratch & we eat supper together as a family every night. The farm life suits us well and we're thankful to be able to live this way.
