As a social enterprise, Gorilla Highlands Coffee (GHC) is committed to improving the livelihood of farmers and our team in SW Uganda and sustaining the habitats of mountain gorillas. We do this through sales of Direct Trade Roasted at Origin coffee from family-run coffee farms and the GHC cooperative, generating sustainable livelihoods to deter poaching and encroaching on gorilla habitats.
We also fund various projects aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals and work towards supporting people and the planet, using coffee that sustains our homes, hearts, and habitats as the tool to create meaningful changes ... one cup at a time.
We are partnering with Nikki's Ginger Tea in Detroit to bring this coffee to socially conscious customers that want to help us create changes for farmers, and connect communities from Uganda to Detroit and vice versa.
Worked in coffee communities in Papua New Guinea and now in Uganda to bring specialty coffee to the marketplace. Developed community-based businesses for improving the livelihoods of farmers and others in communities. Now working with Andrena Sasser of Nikki's Ginger Tea to bring coffee and tea products for sale and for roasting right here in island view Detroit.
