Frisson Farm is a small 20 acre produce farm located 1.50 miles off US 195 about half way between Colfax and Spokane in Whitman County, Washington; owned and operated by our family. This is only our sixth year as farm owners. We are two generations of family. Eight in residence, four adults and three children. For the past five years, we have lived on and farmed the property with the long-term goal of building a self-sustaining family-friendly farming operation.
As farm events happen, like our AKC English Springer Spaniels puppies being born or our 15 to 25 produce vegetables becoming ready to be harvested; we'll post the produceofn this site and puppies being bornon our fb/frissonfarm.com page.
We try to be as organic as possible. We are not cetified organic mainly because of the cost and the nearly never ending arguments of what is organic and what is not. Everything we do we try to go as organic as is possible. If we need to use a spray it will be organic 9 out of ten times. We do use plastic mulchon some of our crops because we think it cuts down the weeds without any use of spray at all. But that is not allowed in the organic rules.
Became farmer later in life. 8 year is the USAF. Four years electronic, 4 years as a commissioned officer. Managed chain restaurants fora number of years. Owned several businessess like an on line travel agency, and carpet ceaning company. Bachelors in BS from Eastern New Mexico University. Paralegal certificate from Univ of Miami.
