Pause Bakery & Co is a queer-owned bakery proudly serving the Lower Mainland with thoughtfully crafted custom cakes, cookies, cake jars, cupcakes and seasonal baked goods. Founded by partners Kaila and Emma, Pause was created with one goal in mind: to make beautiful, high-quality desserts that everyone can enjoy, regardless of dietary needs.

We specialize in vegan, gluten-free and classic baking. We have a strong focus on creating products that are just as delicious as they are beautiful. Our menu features everything from custom cakes and cookie flights to our signature cake jars and jumbo cookies, all made in small batches with premium ingredients.

What makes Pause Bakery & Co unique is our commitment to inclusivity. As someone who is both vegan and gluten-free, Kaila understands firsthand how difficult it can be to find desserts that don't feel like an afterthought. Combined with Emma's professional pastry training from Vancouver Community College's Pastry Arts Program, we've built a bakery that proves dietary-friendly treats can be every bit as indulgent, creative and memorable.

We operate from a licensed commercial kitchen, follow strict food safety and sanitation procedures and take great care in preparing our products with consistency and quality in mind. Our gluten-free items are produced using dedicated production schedules and thorough cleaning protocols to help reduce the risk of cross-contact.

At markets, we offer an inviting selection of individually packaged treats, including our popular cake jars, cookie flights, mini cookies, jumbo cookies, brownies, and other rotating seasonal specialties. We love connecting with our community, meeting new customers and creating a welcoming space where everyone can find something they'll be excited to enjoy.
