Dante
Dante Williams has dedicated his professional career to uplifting youth in his community, inspired by his own journey of resilience and transformation. Since 2008, he has committed himself to empower young people to overcome obstacles and realize their potential.

Dante began his professional journey at Stanford Youth Solutions in 2011, where he took on roles in Youth Advocacy and Mentoring, ultimately becoming a program manager within the Family and Youth Partnership program. As the Youth Advocate Manager, he became a vital member of the agency’s executive leadership team, facilitating the Sacramento County Youth Advocate Committee and co-chairing the Sacramento County Mental Health Services Act Steering Committee. Notably, he was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to the Sacramento County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (SACJJDP) on November 9, 2016, further solidifying his commitment to youth advocacy.

He studied philosophy at Sacramento City College with aspirations of entering law to advocate for the disadvantaged. Dante’s community involvement includes serving as a Deacon at Elk Grove Bible Church, directing the youth ministry, and actively participating on the board of the Sacramento Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens Academy Alumni Association. He is also a volunteer Chaplain for the Sacramento County Probation Department’s Juvenile Justice Chaplaincy.

In 2020, Dante launched Black Coffee Roastery, a venture rooted in his lifelong love for coffee. His journey began in the Marina Vista housing project with humble cups of Folgers. A transformative visit to Temple Coffee ignited his passion for specialty coffee, leading him to explore flavors and blends on his own. Black Coffee Roastery has gained a reputation for exquisite offerings, including standout Guatemalan cold brews and expertly crafted espresso roasts. Clients like the Hyatt Regency Sacramento serve his products at Vines Cafe and in-room dining, and his coffee has been featured at events hosted by Governor Gavin Newsom and First Partner Jennifer Newsom. His Midtown Farmers Market pop-up attracts a vibrant crowd, and his coffee-free drink, Activated Black Matcha, won Best Matcha at the 2023 Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge.

Currently, Dante is focused on expanding Black Coffee Roastery with the goal of opening a café that embodies his passion for quality coffee and community engagement. He is committed to sourcing exceptional beans and crafting unique blends, envisioning a welcoming space for coffee enthusiasts to experience rich flavors and meaningful connections. His journey as a self-taught roaster has equipped him with the skills to elevate the coffee experience, and he looks forward to creating a vibrant café that serves as a hub for creativity and conversation.
