Real Honest Tallow is a small-batch skincare line created by two Iowa sisters who believe skincare should be simple, honest, and effective. Our products are handcrafted with nourishing beef tallow and thoughtfully selected ingredients like jojoba oil, rosehip oil, meadowfoam oil, and squalane to support healthy, hydrated, glowing skin. No complicated routines. No unnecessary fillers. Just real ingredients your skin can recognize and love.

Real Honest Tallow was born from a deeply personal journey and a simple belief: women deserve quality skincare made with honest ingredients at an affordable price.
In my mid-30s, hormonal changes and perimenopause left my skin tight, dry, flaky, and prone to breakouts. My skin barrier was struggling, and no matter what I tried, nothing seemed to truly help. When I began using tallow-based skincare, it was the first time I felt like a product was actually nourishing my skin rather than simply masking the problem. My skin finally felt soft, hydrated, and healthy, and my complexion began to improve. I knew I had found something special—and I wanted other women to experience that same feeling.
Real Honest Tallow is owned and operated by two sisters who are sisters first, best friends second, and business partners third. We were born and raised in the Council Bluffs area and come from a close-knit, beautifully chaotic family of four siblings. Growing up, we watched our parents and grandparents demonstrate the value of hard work, grit, family, and doing things the right way. Those values are at the heart of everything we do.
Outside of Real Honest Tallow, Kaleigh works in marketing for a local Council Bluffs business, while Courtney manages the operations of a local law firm. Our different strengths balance each other, but we share the same passion for our products, our customers, and the community we call home.
The name Real Honest Tallow reflects exactly what we believe skincare should be: simple, purposeful, and honest. We don’t believe in adding unnecessary fillers or ingredients just because they sound impressive. Every ingredient in our products is carefully selected and serves a purpose. If it doesn’t contribute something meaningful to the product, we don’t add it.
Every batch of our moisturizer is handcrafted in small batches and personally sampled before it is ever placed into a jar. If we wouldn’t use it on our own skin, we won’t sell it to someone else.
What has surprised and inspired us most throughout this journey has been the response from our customers. Seeing someone’s face light up when they try our products and hearing how their skin feels afterward reminds us exactly why we started. Every kind word, positive review, and customer experience means more to us than we can express and motivates us to continue learning, improving, and working harder.
At the heart of Real Honest Tallow is more than skincare. It’s family, community, hard work, and a genuine desire to create products that make people feel good about what they are putting on their skin.
