Janez's Confectionery is a manufacturer and producer of sugar and baked confections (sweets). Though operated out of the owner's home kitchen, it is inspected and authorized to operate by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS). It announced it's opening in October 2020.

Janez's Confectionery, LLC is named for April Harrison-Ward's mother, Janice and her grandmother, Inez. April's grandmother loved baking and her desserts were renown in her hometown of Henderson, NC. While studying history at North Carolina Central University (NCCU), April started her first business, Truly Homemade Bakery. Truly Homemade made various desserts and April began selling her cheesecakes at a local food co-op store. Upon graduation she married, she and her husband had a son, and April maintained a beloved career as an educator. Being a lover of delicious confections, sweets, she continued to bake for family and friends over the years and earned her Food Protection Manager certification. April once again is pursuing her passion as a licensed confections business owner. She believes that confections should not only look good, but more importantly, taste good. April pours her love and energy in every confection she makes from scratch to make it taste delicious.
