I am a local student in the Joplin area who has a background in medicine. I would like to bring educational materials and supplies to the local community as well as help to educate others through my experiences on skin cancer and other skin lesions that could turn malignant. The supplies would be coming from Impact Melanoma and there would be pictures of such posted with them tagged, but they will not be in attendance to the tabeling events. Nothing I bring will be for sale to the public, but rather free. The items I would be bringing are mole charts with rulers, UV bracelets indicating it is time to reapply sunscreen, UV frisbees (possibly), Chapstick that contains SPF as well as other educational materials. I will also be doing pediatric education for parents with children and depending on funding I may be able to bring long sleeve UV protection shirts for children aged 0-1 with smaller children under 2 possibly being able to fit. The shirts would be from UV skins if you wish to research them yourselves and it is another division of Impact Melanoma that I can combine with the Be Skin Smart program that contains the mole charts and other items. This would be the simplest of things I would do as there are a few other avenues I would pursue depening on popularity and funding towards these initial endeavors.
