She further developed her skills in soft pastels, graphite drawing and pottery making in the Art Department at Piedmont College. During the 20+ years of being a mother and traveling as a military wife, she was featured in art galleries and shows across the US for her various mixed media works. In 2005 one of her North Georgia Trout Stream paintings was selected and published on the cover of Hello Habersham and in 2007 one of her StoryTellers was on the cover of The Atalanta Woman. Other publications have followed but one of the most exciting happenings was the invitation to be an artist on the set of hit television show The Originals for three episodes across three seasons. For much of the recent decade, Mariah has traveled the artist market circuit across the southeast doing 15-20 outdoor events and markets per year. In 2018 Mariah did two artist residencies: one at the famous Howard Finster's Paradise Gardens ands the other in Ellijay, GA at the Martyn House. During these residencies she decided to focus more on her need to spread happy vibes and loving energy which lead her to a busy career as a pet portrait artist.
