My name is Jacob Busse, and I’m a sophomore at Baxter Springs High School and the founder of Flourish Microgreens. My journey began after winning 1st place in the Cherokee County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge and advancing to compete at the state level. Driven by a passion for modern agriculture, I built Flourish Microgreens to supply our local community with fresh, nutrient-dense produce grown using indoor vertical farming methods. I grow a wide range of crops—including pea shoots, sunflower, radish, broccoli, and specialty varieties—focusing on clean, sustainable practices. One of my favorite parts of running this business is getting out into the community, meeting new people, and connecting directly with customers and local chefs who appreciate fresh, high-quality greens.
