SEQUENTIAL coffee responsibly sources the world’s finest beans from small family farms around the globe and brings them to Jacksonville Florida to be artisanally roasted by master roaster Stephen Ezell in our coffee lab in the Phoenix Arts District.
Stephen Ezell is a Jacksonville native that learned the craft of making coffee, from planting the seeds to growing the plants to harvesting the beans and roasting them to make the perfect cup of coffee. A skilled musician, Stephen grew up performing in Jacksonville as part of the local music scene. In the early 2000s, Stephen went to San Francisco and was mentored by one of the nation's leading coffee experts, Willem Boot, and traveled the world helping farmers raise a better, more sustainable crop. Stephen returned to Jacksonville to bring all he's learned home to his community. Jon Shepard is a filmmaker and coffee enthusiast that built a career in marketing and advertising in Jacksonville before starting Sequential Coffee with his longtime friend, Stephen. Jon's wife teaches at Mandarin High School, where his two children also attend.
