Bee Hollow Farm
Vendor
Bee Hollow Farm is a family owned and operated sustainable apiary. We use only organic practices to raise northern acclimated Carniolan honey bees. Our bees are placed in the safest environments we can find throughout the Capital Region, including Columbia and Rensselaer counties. We produce a variety of seasonal raw and creamed honeys, bourbon barrel aged honey as well as other apiary products including fresh pollen, bees wax candles and all natural lip balm. Bee Hollow Farm also raises queen bees and nucleus colonies to support the local beekeepers and bee keeping industry.
We also grow Elderberry and produce elderberry syrup using our honey. We in the process of hoping to add a farm meadery and are starting to produce artisanal vinegars using Hudson Valley fruit orchard byproducts &craft distiller/brewers’ spent grains. We operate in a 20-C Food processor licensed facility as required by Ag & Market regulations
We not only use organic practices in at our farm and in our beekeeping husbandry, each year we conduct a class teaching others how to successfully keep bees using organic practices. On our farm we use cover cropping and organic practices in our elderberries, All of our compost comes from composted waste, mostly horse manure and farm scraps that are produced here at the farm
Paul MacPhail
Growing up on a family operated dairy farm put me on the path of loving the agricultural lifestyle. Our love for honeybees can sometimes turn into an obsession as we constantly focus on healthy bees and healthy environments for our bees. Our bees produce the highest quality product. Our job is to preserve that quality by keeping our honey and honey products raw, never heating or filtering to ensure that all the natural goodness collected by the bees is in every jar. Even our creamed honey is made using the European Method (takes much longer than the American Method) to ensure that it stays raw.
