Boise Mosaic Works is a fully-functional mosaic workshop located in Boise specializing in handcrafted architectural, landscape and fine art mosaic suitable for commercial and residential applications. Known for exquisite detail and innovative shaping techniques, BMW features products and services unique to the company including the ever-popular "Mosaic Monolith" (as seen on HGTV!), mosaic-fused stones and custom-fabricated signage. Additionally, BMW offers popular instructional mosaic workshops for students of all ages and skill levels, operating classrooms at the Gem Center for the Arts in Boise and City of Star Art Barn at Riverhouse in Star, ID.
James Turner began his mosaic career in the fall of 1996 and opened his first workshop in Idaho in 1998. Boise Mosaic Works was re-launched in the fall of 2018 and continues to set a high precedent for the medium today, with James acting as the Head Artisan and Designer while training two-three apprentices throughout the year. In addition to being experts in the creation of mosaic art James is also an accomplished tile setter having served an apprenticeship in wet-application tilework.
