Captain's Crust

Sitting by the window of the tiny pub that you found tucked away in a corner of Portsmouth, England, you glance at the menu and then back to your server, impatiently waiting for them to make their way to you. The scent of sea water and the ancient oak floors combine with the wonderful smell of baking bread and create a heady vision of being there, but 100 years ago. Steeped in the experience, before you know it; your mind is already made for you - their generous serving of rich, scrumptious Clam Chowder with thick slices of their homemade, sourdough bread toasted and stacked neatly next to the bowl- the one just wouldn't be the same without the other.
