Suncoast Searchlight

Suncoast Searchlight is a nonprofit newsroom serving Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties with investigative and explanatory journalism. Our mission is to provide trustworthy, accessible reporting that helps residents better understand local issues and make informed decisions.

At the Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market, we would host a small outreach table focused on community engagement. Rather than selling products, our goal is to connect with residents, introduce our work, and invite people to subscribe to our free weekly newsletter.

We aim to create a welcoming, low-pressure space where people can share what’s on their minds, learn more about local reporting, and feel more connected to what’s happening in their community. Participating in the market also allows us to support local vendors and be part of the broader community experience.
