I am a young fine artist and illustrator! I try to include energy and passion in my work, using splatters of paint contrasted underneath well drawn renderings of animals and flowers and things! I think it brings life and energy! It hints that there might be more beneath the surface of the subject than meets the eye. It also emphasizes the fragility of the piece, how in one place something feels substantial and strong and in another it’s just splatters of paint! It makes you think about how art is just a fabrication, how we can trick ourselves by using light and dark pigments in different places to create an image but in the end it’s just paint. But most of all I love art because of its potential to connect people! There’s something in the visual arts that brings people together through the human experience. Art that makes you feel things taps into something mysterious that connects all of us and I think it’s wonderful! I try to bring all of this into my business as I teach private lessons, take commissions, and sell pieces, spreading that unity— the magic that art can bring!
