Moshruums LLC is a Metro Detroit–based functional mushroom wellness brand that my husband and I founded in 2023. I grew up in Taiwan, where mushrooms have long been valued not only for their flavors but also as part of everyday wellness traditions. After moving to Detroit in 2018, I found myself missing both the foods I grew up with and the cultural appreciation for mushrooms as part of a balanced lifestyle. That homesickness eventually inspired us to begin exploring mushroom cultivation and later to start Moshruums.
My motivation for this work is also deeply personal. My father was a cancer patient, and witnessing his struggle with illness was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. As his daughter, it was heartbreaking to feel that there was so little I could do to help him. Although I can no longer help my father, that experience continues to guide my purpose. Through Moshruums, I hope to encourage people to take small, meaningful steps toward supporting their health and overall well-being.
At Moshruums, we focus on functional mushroom products designed to support simple daily wellness rituals. Our offerings include mushroom extract powders, capsules, and teas such as Lion’s Mane extract, Morning Booster (a blend of Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and Turkey Tail) for daytime energy and focus, and Evening Glow (a blend of Reishi, Tremella, Shiitake, and Chaga) for evening balance and relaxation. These products are designed to help people easily incorporate mushrooms into their everyday routines.
We actively participate in several farmers markets and community events throughout Metro Detroit, where education and direct connection with customers are central to our approach. Through these interactions, we aim to introduce more people to functional mushrooms and share practical ways they can be incorporated into daily life.
For Eastern Market specifically, we recognize that there are already vendors offering fresh mushrooms. Our intention is to complement those offerings by focusing primarily on value-added mushroom products, such as mushroom extract blends and wellness-focused preparations. By offering a different category of mushroom products, we hope to expand customer interest in mushrooms while supporting and strengthening the broader mushroom community at the market.

My name is Pei (Peichi Huang), founder of Moshruums LLC, a functional mushroom wellness brand based in Metro Detroit.
I grew up in Taiwan, where mushrooms have long been valued not only for their rich flavors but also as an important part of everyday wellness traditions. After moving to Detroit in 2018, I found myself missing both the foods I grew up with and the cultural appreciation for mushrooms as part of a balanced lifestyle. That sense of homesickness, combined with my long-standing interest in mushrooms, eventually led me to explore mushroom cultivation and later to establish Moshruums.
At Moshruums, our mission is to help people incorporate functional mushrooms into their daily routines in a simple and approachable way, encouraging healthier lifestyles and greater balance for both body and mind.
Our product line focuses on functional mushroom powders, capsules, and teas designed to support everyday wellness. Blends such as Morning Booster, Lion’s Mane, and Evening Glow, along with traditional Reishi tea, are created to fit naturally into daily routines and encourage long-term wellness practices.

Sustainability is also an important part of our philosophy. Whenever possible, we prioritize recyclable and reusable packaging and make conscious choices to reduce environmental impact.
In addition to developing our wellness product line, Moshruums actively participates in several local farmers markets and community events, including the Dodge Park Farmers Market, Clawson Farmers Market, Shelby Farmers Market, St. Clair Shores Farmers Market, and seasonal events at Blake’s Farm. These venues provide valuable opportunities to engage directly with the community, educate customers about functional mushrooms, and promote accessible approaches to everyday wellness.
As the business continues to grow, we are also expanding our online presence through our website, where our products are currently available for statewide shipping throughout Michigan. Our long-term goal is to expand distribution nationally, allowing us to share the benefits of functional mushrooms with a broader audience while continuing to stay rooted in our local community.
Through Moshruums, we hope to make functional mushrooms more approachable while encouraging healthier, more balanced lifestyles.
