Sugar Sand Silver
Vendor
Kim Schmeits learned the art of metal-smithing while earning her degrees in fine arts. She received her post-grad in paintings conservation in Antwerp, Belgium and has lived and worked in Europe, Mexico City, and the U.S., always gathering artistic inspiration from her travels along the way.
When she returned to the U.S. and Sarasota seven years ago, Kim decided to reach back to her roots in silver-smithing. Realizing how much she loved working with fine metals and gemstones, she created Sugar Sand Silver, the name being a nod to the beautiful white beaches of Sarasota where she lives & has her studio. Working with sterling silver, natural stones, and pearls, Kim hand-crafts each piece and takes great pride in the quality of materials she uses and her skills in creating something beautiful for her customers to wear and cherish. She uses only high quality .925 sterling silver with no nickel, and handpicks the stones and other materials to offer you quality, artisan made jewelry at affordable prices. Kim has also recently added a line of hand-crafted, delicate 14/20 gold-filled jewelry to her work.
In addition to her website, www.SugarSandSilver.com, Sugar Sand Silver can be found in person every Saturday, year round, at the Downtown Sarasota Farmers Market.

You will find a lot of information about me in the biography above, but I want to add that I have loved being a farmers market vendor for the last four years in Sarasota. The sense of community and being able to connect with my customers is priceless and they love knowing they are purchasing a locally hand-crafted product. Because I make everything, and need studio time, I can't do too many weekly markets, which is why a monthly market like Hyde Park would be ideal for me!
