Proper Artsy

Proper Artsy is a fine art business founded in 2021, inspired by the wildlife and landscapes of Canada. Based in Sea to Sky Corridor and rooted in Whistler, the brand continues to grow within the local creative community and beyond. All artwork is created by Bryony Dique, a Whistler-based artist whose practice reflects a deep connection to the natural environment.

Bryony is an active participant in the local arts scene, regularly taking part in events hosted by Arts Whistler, including live painting demonstrations in the village. Her community involvement includes hosting a potluck paint night for Whistler residents, collaborating with Swatch in support of the Indigenous Life Sport Academy, and contributing artwork to British Columbia’s “Don’t Love It To Death” campaign.

Working in a distinctive realism-meets-surrealism style, Bryony focuses primarily on local wildlife, capturing animals with intricate detail and expressive depth. She works predominantly in gouache and acrylic on a range of surfaces including watercolour paper, canvas, and wood panels. Her practice also extends to zentangle illustration on paper and alcohol ink art on Yupo paper and alternative surfaces such as baseball caps and shoes.

Proper Artsy offers both original works and fine art prints, with worldwide shipping available. Commissions, including custom pet portraits, are welcomed subject to availability.
