Matchafe is a small, woman- and Asian-owned beverage and food business rooted in Vietnamese and Japanese traditions. Founded by Bao and Tuan, Matchafe was born from a shared love of education, culture, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Bao is an educator, and Tuan is a nurse, and together they bring care, intention, and curiosity into everything they create.
Our menu highlights handcrafted matcha beverages and traditional Vietnamese coffee, prepared fresh on site. Bao traveled to Vietnam to learn traditional phin brewing techniques directly from small local coffee vendors and carefully selected highland-grown beans known for their smooth, balanced flavor. In Japan, we explored and sampled a wide range of matcha before choosing blends that pair beautifully with natural, thoughtfully sourced ingredients.
We focus on quality over shortcuts. Our drinks are lightly sweetened using alternatives to refined sugar and feature ingredients such as Oregon-sourced marionberry and strawberry, yuzu from licensed U.S. producers, and fresh bread served with premium fruit spreads and edible flower garnishes. Every item is assembled with care to highlight both flavor and presentation.
Matchafe exists to offer a calm, elevated experience at the market that celebrates cultural tradition, local sourcing where possible, and intentional preparation. We are proud to share drinks and food that feel both comforting and special, crafted to be enjoyed slowly and mindfully.
