Camp Kee-Mo-Kee is a camp community serving London, Middlesex Centre and surrounding communities. It is a welcoming space where approximately 600 campers attend summer camp, exploring nature while developing new interests, skills and relationships. Each summer, we employ 45 youth and 24 teens participate in our Leadership Program, developing into future community leaders. We remove barriers to participation in programs through subsidies, our inclusion program, and partnerships with community agencies, enabling us to reach youth that may otherwise be unable to come to camp. This creates new confidence and resiliency amongst these participants, while providing respite for families and encouraging understanding between diverse populations. Our Indigenous Campership Program fosters reconciliation and learning through the sharing of indigenous culture. Our facilities welcome community events including the Optimists Halloween Haunted Cabins, Brownie camps and retreats for various organizations. Each spring, hundreds of students explore nature and team building through our spring outdoor education program. The camp has diversified operations during the past 4 years, innovating to include off-season programming, more community outreach and off-site offerings. This has created more opportunities for the camp to serve our community and to engage people in our mission.
