Surprisingly Baked exists for the simple purpose of bringing others joy. We do this by baking delicious cookies and brownies - all with a surprise inside!
Our menu is unapologetically indulgent: not paleo, not Keto, not gluten free, not Whole 30. Here at Surprisingly Baked, we believe that although eating healthy is important, life is also short – and when it’s time for a treat, only the best will do. Because everything in moderation, right?
We take your traditional favorites like chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, and add in our own variation. For example, one of our most popular flavors is the "Parent Trap" -- a peanut butter cookie with an Oreo stuffed inside.

My name is Ginny Jacobs, and I’m the founder and CEO (Chief Eating Officer) of Surprisingly Baked. In late 2019, I finally nabbed my dream job in the hospitality business and moved to the D.C. area. A few months later, the pandemic struck -- and Surprisingly Baked was born.
Like many others around the world, I started baking during the quarantine as a way to curb stress. My fiancé, Guy, and I taste tested brownies, cookies and other treats. I began experimenting with cookies and brownies baked with surprises inside, including Oreos, Nutella, caramel, frosting and more.
When my corporate job finally shifted from “working at home” to “furloughed” to “laid off,” I decided to go all in.
