Wafeltje Stroopwafels

Wafeltje Stroopwafels is a small, owner-operated business run by me, Matthew Nelson. Wafeltje focuses on crafting authentic, handmade Dutch stroopwafels, which are thin, crispy waffle cookies filled with caramel. Everything—from the dough to the “stroop” caramel filling—is made completely from scratch using simple, high-quality, and locally sourced ingredients. Each stroopwafel is baked fresh on-site at markets creating an interactive and memorable experience that engages market-goers and fills the market with inviting aromas and the skill of live craftsmanship. While honoring traditional Dutch methods and celebrating Dutch heritage, Wafeltje also explores creative, thoughtfully developed stroopwafel variations and pairings that showcase what the stroopwafel can be beyond the classic. My goal is to offer something both familiar and new, paired with friendly service and a genuine connection to the community.
