Affordable Opals and Gifts

I have been a rock hound since the day I could walk. I've mined quartz crystals, uncovered fossils, scoured the shores of the Great Lakes, and gathered geodes, jasper, and agate. Almost 10 years ago, after uncovering the lapidary tools I bought at a garage sale, I started going through my rocks and fossils. Through trial and error, I taught myself how to carve, cut, and polish rocks and gems - especially opals. Nature provides us with extraordinary raw materials and I strive to bring out the beauty. I also find bead work and jewelry making very soothing. Now that things are made, I've got to let them go.

The other focus of my shop are items that inspire people to slow down and savor life. Some are fun, some are humorous, some are spiritual, and some are plain amazing. Over the years and through my travels I have amassed an impressive collection of Asian and Buddhist artifacts, pottery and glassware, antiques, and assorted pretty things.
I used to be a Science Teacher. Now, through Eastern Market, I am a maker, designer, and reseller.
