Cornelius Public Library
Vendor
The Cornelius Public Library, established in 1912, has grown from a small library located in the back of a pool room with only 200 books to lend out, to a 530 sq. ft. garage inside of the old city council chambers shared by the fire department and city hall in 1963, to a 3,025 sq. ft. space within the Cornelius Civic Center in 1982, to the now 14,000 sq. ft. library! This one of a kind, three story building, completed in 2019, houses the library and YMCA center on the first floor and affordable senior housing on the second and third floors.
While the library is closed due to COVID-19, we are accepting one-on-one appointments during special service hours and providing additional limited services. Visit our website for the most up to date information.
