We are a small poultry farm dedicated to supporting backyard chicken owners and communities.
Raising Baby Chicks, Juvenile Pullets and Laying Hens.
We realize that self sufficiency is a growing need and that we are equipped to help communities grow their existing Backyard Chicken flock and/or take their first steps towards Backyard Chicken ownership.
It is our goal to provide well cared for Chickens from all stages of growth. We take careful steps in managing our birds overall health, stress and nutrition to give the best opportunity to flourish in North Floridas climate.
With over One Thousand Chickens on site monthly from Baby Chicks to Laying Hens, It is our pleasure to help our surrounding communities find the next members of their Backyard Chicken Family!
Pastured
We hold a Limited Poultry License in the State of Florida.
All our chickens on site are brooded in adequately sized hoop houses.
Once 18-20 weeks of age and Egg Laying has begun, the chickens are moved to our pastured mobile hen house to continue their egg production with rotated access to 3 acres of pasture.
I am a career Film Industry Technician, Gaffer, Key Grip and owner of Southern Lighting and Grip (film equipment rental house). With over 16 years in the movie business, I have dedicated myself to learning the craft of set lighting and camera movement. All that came to a screeching halt with the 2020 Pandemic. After an intense evaluation of my resources available, I quickly shifted my attention to self sufficiency and soon found that Chicken Ownership is among the many necessities imperative to sustainability.
Since then, my children and I have built a farming practice that is capable of meeting our needs and the needs of our surrounding communities.
Within the next year, I am in the process of expanding our small operation towards breeding and hatching our own raised stock. Soon to be a member of the National Poultry Improvement Plan.
