We’re LowCarb Avenue, a small family-owned bakery based in Frederick, Maryland. Our story began when my mom, a bariatric physician at Johns Hopkins, started developing low-carb bread recipes for her patients who couldn’t find healthy options they could trust. She wanted to create real bread made with clean, natural ingredients that people managing diabetes or low-carb lifestyles could actually enjoy.

I joined her while studying as an undergraduate business student at the University of Pennsylvania, and before long, the rest of our family jumped in too. What started in our kitchen has grown into a small but passionate bakery that now ships nationwide and serves local markets across the East Coast.

We’re still a super small, family-run business baking and packaging everything by hand in our Maryland bakery. With nothing but word of mouth and incredible customer support, our Multigrain Loaf became the #1 best-selling multigrain bread on Amazon in 2024.

There’s truly no other company doing what we do. Many “low-carb” breads on the market rely on chemically modified starches or heavily processed ingredients to achieve their texture, but ours never do. We only use the highest-quality, naturally sourced ingredients that are completely clean-label certified, so you can eat healthier without even realizing it. Every slice tastes like real bread because it is real bread.
