Karl Thuemmel
Karl Thuemmel is the owner and manager of Fourth Soil Farm, which he started with his wife, Jeanne. With a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Technology and Systems Management from Michigan State University, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the farm. For six years, Karl developed small farms in Central Asia, gaining valuable insights into sustainable agricultural practices and community engagement. Now back in Michigan after many years teaching in Turkey, he is dedicated to cultivating high-quality, natural microgreens at Fourth Soil Farm. In addition to managing Fourth Soil Farm, Karl serves as the Orchard Manager at Applewood Estate in Flint, furthering his commitment to local food systems and sustainable agriculture.
