About

The Nashville Blanket Project sells beautiful ethically made authentic Mexican blankets and for every blanket sold, one is given to a neighbor in need. Our blankets are made from reclaimed fibers and come in a "Keep Nashville cozy" tote that is locally printed with eco-friendly ink. We also have apparel items (t-shirts, hats, and pins), and the profits from those sales are donated to help feed our neighbors experiencing homelessness. We work with non-profits in Nashville to distribute the blankets- namely, People Loving Nashville and the Community Resource Center. We've also given blankets through Living for Everything, who provides comfort kits for children undergoing transplant procedures, and with multiple groups serving our neighbors after the March 2nd tornado. We sell our blankets from our 1981 Chevy El Camino, which acts as our mobile store. To date we have given out over 1000 blankets and hope to reach 5000 by 2023.

My husband Chris and I started the Nashville Blanket Project in 2018. We are both from the greater Nashville area and wanted to help other Nashvillians love their neighbors by providing a blanket that is beautiful and useful, and also covers the cost of the one we give out. I used to live in San Diego during college, where Mexican blankets are abundant and popular and we had one that we used for everything from camping to picnics, so we chose that style to support the artisans in Mexico who make such lovely textiles and because they are our neighbors as well. Chris and I live in South Nashville with our two dogs and love attending live music events and supporting local businesses and local agriculture.
