The Nut Lady was founded in Massachusetts in 1998 from one of Joanne's (the Original Nut Lady) Italian Grandmother’s old recipes. She baked nuts in a cinnamon meringue coating the Old-Fashioned way without oils, butter, syrups or preservatives! The recipe sounded delicious and healthy so Joanne decided to make a batch and test them on her toughest critics- her family and friends. Everyone that tasted them went nuts over the nuts, confessing to hoarding them, hiding them in cupboards, fighting over the last crumb, and even blaming the family pet for eating them! With their encouragement, Joanne started selling the baked nuts, and The Nut Lady was born!
In 2015, after 17 years of making thousands of people happy with her baked nuts, Joanne and Bob (a.k.a. the Nut Dude) entrusted their business to two nutty guys from Albany, NY. We continue to bake these delicious, healthy treats in the same small batches, using Joanne's grandmother's original recipe.
