An Average Jill
Vendor
An Average Jill LLC is a wellness lifestyle brand that has developed into the YouTube channel, Hiking with an Average Jill; A homemade line of An Average Jill Granola; and the website anaveragejill.com, where I publish a blog and articles about personal life lessons and mindful living. Most recently, An Average Jill teamed up with Flanders Nature Center, in Woodbury Connecticut, to offer a series of guided hikes featured under the name, Hiking with an Average Jill.
An Average Jill Granola is prepared under a State of Connecticut Cottage Food License. I personally bake and package each batch in my home in Morris Connecticut. I'm mindful to wholesome ingredients, and use locally produced products when possible. Each bag sold is stamped with a 'Best By' date, so you know it’s within 8-weeks of the day it was baked.
An Average Jill Granola is mixed in small batches, and hand stirred to ensure consistency. It’s lightly pressed onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper, and baked at a low temp until the edges turn slightly brown--and a delightful aroma fills the kitchen. After the granola cools, it’s carefully hand-packaged into eco-friendly tin tie kraft-paper bags.
Jill Roberts
Hi, I’m Jill; the founder of An Average Jill LLC and baker of An Average Jill granola. This crazy venture began when I started to share my favorite granola recipes while camping with friends. Soon they suggested that I should offer my favorite granola recipes for sale. Although selling granola wasn’t exactly the idea I had in mind when I resigned from a 20-year accounting profession a year earlier, I decided to give it a go.
More than just selling granola, I get to share my outdoor experiences through the mini-documentaries I create for the YouTube channel, Hiking with an Average Jill, and through the nature photography I capture along hiking trails, mostly in the tri-State area of CT, NY and MA. Most recently, I've created a custom t-shirt line that incorporates my personal quotes that are intended to inspire the goodness that is in us all.
