Tembo Education

Tembo is an educational program in which parents are sent a daily text-message containing an activity that's been built through Harvard's Center on the Developing Child, and backed by decades of research. The daily activity is performed using nothing more than the parent and baby's surroundings. No screens. No apps. Because of the simplicity of delivery, we're able to provide a robust education to thousands of children in remote areas in Africa, with our largest partner, Nestlé. Yet, Tembo is just as powerful for children in the U.S.—regardless of background. From underserved communities to affluent families, all children from 0 to age 6 benefit dramatically from these activities, which require no screens and no equipment.
