About

Mother Made gives a second life to fabrics to create sustainable products to reduce waste at home.

How Mother Made came to be
The business concept began when my daughters wanted to move away from Ziploc bags for their lunches, but suitable alternatives were hard to find in Squamish. I decided to create my own solution using fabrics sourced from Pearls Value & Vintage and food-safe polyurethane laminate (PUL) to make waterproof, machine-washable bags.

Mother Made Canada also supports PEARLSPACE, benefiting women and youth in the Sea to Sky region. Alongside reusable bags, I offer tote bags and soap-saver mitts that repurpose leftover soap remnants.

Since launching in March 2024, we've participated in 71 local markets and have products available at Hight School Farms in Squamish and Random & Co. Our mission emphasizes that small actions can drive meaningful change, which led to our nomination for the Squamish Chamber Business Excellence Awards in the environmental impact category.

Manager

Christine Quirion
I graduated from HEC Montreal with a marketing degree in 2000 and was subsequently employed by Danone France. I accumulated 13 years of experience within the Danone Group, spanning roles in both France and Canada. My positions included Sales Director, Sustainable Development Manager, and HR Specialist, which enabled me to acquire extensive knowledge and expertise across various business departments. My most recent role in Human Resources at Vega in Vancouver provided me with valuable insights into the business model of British Columbia.

I am now prepared to establish my enterprise to create a sustainable project within my community. I am mainly motivated by projects that can have social, environmental, and economic impacts. Mother Made Canada is grounded in the principles of sustainable business.
