My Chinese name is YANG ChangChun, but in Roseburg, I am Sammy.
I was raised in the remote farming region of HuNan province, China.
My family grew rice, vegetables, chickens, ducks and oranges.
As a young woman, I moved to ShenZhen, China which is next to Hong Kong, and learned about the restaurant business as a server. Then to Shanghai for several years, then to Roseburg in 2014. Now I am happy for you to taste the fresh, authentic and flavorful cuisine of my hometown, called Xiang Cuisine. The menu will be small, so that I can make the six items to order.
We will have a vege, spicy chicken or beef, pork and pepper and a pork belly dish.
We can cook more or less spicy (the slender red chili peppers).
Most of the dishes are cooked on a high heat wok burner to sear in the flavor.
My husband (David Reeck) and I are very happy to live in this beautiful Umpqua Valley.
I like fishing, gardening and raising chickens and ducks.
Roseburg is our home and we want to be good neighbors and friends.
