Cheese Utah promotes cheese in Utah. It operates a yearly contest for cheese plate foods made in Utah as well as produces the Salt Lake Cheese Festival. Beginning in 2019 it has sold cheese at the Liberty Park Farmers Markets

Steve Jerman has a degree in advertising design from Utah State University and has for 30 years worked in commercial art in varied positions in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2016 he spent 4 months as an apprentice on a small cheese farmstead which lead him to found the Utah Cheese Awards and Cheese Utah LLC.
