About

Our Small family business is call The Tasty Empanada and we make authentic gluten free fried Costa Rican empanadas ( pork, chorizo, chicken, duck, cheese and a vegan Empanada ) 90% of the ingredients that we use in our food are farm to fork, raised and grown in our 4 acre farm in Thomaston CT or locally sourced. My husband and I dreamt about this business for years and in 2019 it became a dream come true. Last year we did the Litchfield and Southington FM. We were not expecting the success that we had. We also did many local festivals and fair with long lines of hungry customers. We are hard core believers of local, clean ingredients and sustainability. This year we are sooo looking forward to growing and raising the delicious ingredients that go into our empanadas and our signature side salad and special sauce. ( Baby potatoes, cabbage, squash, green beans, bell peppers, cilantro, thyme, onions, free range heritage pork, organic chicken and organic duck.) There is nothing like The TastyEmpanada in Connecticut. We would love to bring our latino and local flavors to CT Farmer Markets this year. Our heart and soul goes into every seed we grow, into the meat we purchase and into every Empanada we prepare. I hope you consider us for the 2020 season.

We are a small family business. The girls, hubby and I usually take care or the garden plot and prep the food at the license kitchen . On the day of the FM, we work together as a team. Every week we assign our task ahead of time. If we are doing big events, more family members come together to help. The recipes that we prepare were taught to me by my Costa Rican mother. Growing healthy and delicious food for our empanadas is a tough task, however the flavors and labor that goes into our food is week worth it, especially when our customers come back for more.
