Sanibel Mobile

Description

Inspired by my visits and shelling on Sanibel Island and Fort Myers Beach, Florida, this is one of my most creative and intricate seashell and macrame creations.

Unique hemp and seashell decorative hanging mobile /chandelier/ wind chime that I made by tying various types of macrame knots into 20-pound high-quality Hemptique natural hemp cord onto natural driftwood and adorning with natural seashells and coral.

I collected most of the shells in January 2019 on Sanibel Island, Fort Myers Beach, and Lovers Key State Park, Florida. I collected the small pieces of coral in Key West, Florida, in 2014. My father and stepmother collected some of the shells in the 1990s on the beaches of Sanibel Island, Florida. I collected the three pieces of natural driftwood in the Virginia Beach, Virginia, area.
It is approximately 18 inches long and 11 inches wide.

Each of the four sides includes a different pattern of macrame knots and different types of seashells.
It includes more than 30 seashells of various types, including Jingle Shells, Calico Scallops, Figsnails, Arks, Scallops, Juvenile Conch, Barnacles and others found in those areas.

May be hung indoors or outdoors in a protected area, away from strong winds and rain. It makes a gentle tinkling sound in a light wind.
