Text and Rock is a podcast and digital media company that teaches the Bible as literature. Our mission is to teach our listeners how to read the Bible like an ancient to have faith like a modern. We sell t-shirts and fine art prints about the story of the Bible and archaeology of the ancient Near East and Mediterranean world.

TEXT AND ROCK is the creative work of Mark Shaffer and Eric Madison. Mark is a pastor, a writer, and PhD student (almost done!) who loves to see people grow into their punk-rock-selves. Eric is an accomplished percussionist who plays in three Iowa City bands. He also teaches aspiring young musicians to rock the drums. You can visit our growing body of work at textandrock.com.
