I have been a lifelong seamstress. Recently I discovered quilting. I have been making gifts for family members and the response has be great. Ever since I saw the research project with the children choosing dolls that reflect their own images to determine the affects of segregation on them, I was deeply moved by the results. I am choosing to make products that reflect the images of Black children in a positive light, this is why I call the collection Reflections. Currently I am making pillows, but will expand to more in the future.
I am a sole proprietor and creator. I have advanced skills with what I do. Professionally I have been and remain a registered nurse part time. I sew out of my home, but to date have not seen much of what I do with other products available. I am a native of Detroit. I have a MA in Organizational Management. My goal is to provide a quality product for parents or grandparents for young children that reflect cute images on colorful pillows for their children to enjoy.
