Hobo's Closet
Vendor
The business interest stems from my familys past flea market days back in MA and NH during the (60's, 70's, 80's) and also from a part time hobby of searching for records as a DJ. I have been making jewelry since the late 80's, and collecting mostly old beaded things to tear up and create new pieces out of. Over time on my searches for the records and jewelry I have apparently inherited the passion for odd old things in general and started collecting a lot of the things I remember seeing my uncles selling and trading at the markets back when. So the business is a mix of things. I make the jewelry and have that part but I also have a rotation of various antiques, toys, trinkets, punk rock, reggae and hip-hop paraphernalia, records, clothing, textiles, and other oddities. I also garden and randomly bring plants out when they are ready. So that's kind of how the name Hobo's Closet came about as no one could really pinpoint what I actually had going on. I would say I'm a people person and also like the art of just talking with people and sharing info and stories about the items I have.
I work at home making the crafted items, jewelry in this case. But everything else is old stuff made long ago.
