About
We are an indoor aquaculture farm located in the city of Detroit that was founded in 2016. We grow and sell fresh, Paciific White shrimp. Our shrimp are raised without the use of hormones, antibiotics nor artificial chemicals in an environmentally, sustainable manner. We get our 12-day old baby shrimp from a hatchery in Florida. They are the size of an eyelash. We raise them for about 150 days until they are market-size. We sell our shrimp at our farm location on W. Chiago and at pop-up markets.
Production Practices
Antibiotic And Hormone Free
Our marine shrimp are raised without the use of hormones, antibiotics or artificial chemicals. They are raised in regular, from the tap, water that has been declorinated. We add regular aquarium salt to it. We also add molasses to stimulate bacteria growth and baking soda to boost alkalinity. Our shrimp are fed a soy-based, high protein feed. Our water is recycled.
We are certified by the Sate of Michigan as an aquaculture facility. Inspected by the Michigan Dept. of Agriculture.
