The Arc of Northwest Wayne County

Founded by parents in 1961, The Arc of Northwest Wayne County is a community-based organization whose purpose is to support and advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc NW offers programs and services that span a lifetime to enrich the lives of people with disabilities and their caregivers. It is through this connection to The Arc NW that the lives of individuals are transformed through equity and the ability to plan for a future supported by their community. Our programs include educational advocacy, advocacy in the behavioral health system including community education, Lekotek play program and toy lending library, and financial management providing payroll services to individuals with disabilities who employ direct care workers. The Arc NW also enjoys several partnerships with community organizations that share our mission. The Arc NW is affiliated with The Arc MI and The Arc US. We serve the communities of Canton, Garden City, Livonia, Northville, Plymouth, and Redford.
