Moss and Mica Pottery

This year, Moss and Mica is focusing in on hand-built ceramic sculpture work of local endangered marine species (red octopus, ochre starfish dishes, orca) and terrestrial species (local birds like pileated woodpeckers, ravens, black oystercatchers, robins, red breasted nuthatches and more), local fungi species (morels, chanterelles, amanitas) as well as whimsical garden gnomes. Our ceramic works can be placed outside year round, and are often purchased as garden decor. We also make clay jewellery, including mushroom, shark and slug earrings. All our jewellery products are gender neutral and use sustainably sourced materials. We also create hand-carved wooden fairy doors from recycled cedar and spruce 1” x 8” fence panels. Brightly painted and coated with three layers of clear varnish, our fairy doors are finished with tiny hinges (making the doors functional), tiny door knobs and windows, and include small ceramic elements, such as moons, hearts, starfish or bees, giving our doors a unique and whimsical character.
